What is COVID 19 ?

Coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by a newly discovered coronavirus. Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience mild to moderate respiratory illness and recover without requiring special treatment. Older people, and those with underlying medical problems like cardiovascular disease, diabetes, chronic respiratory disease, and cancer are more likely to develop serious illness.

The best way to prevent and slow down transmission is to be well informed about the COVID-19 virus, the disease it causes and how it spreads. Protect yourself and others from infection by washing your hands or using an alcohol-based rub frequently and not touching your face.

Actions by PAK to prevent COVID-19

  • Face coverings - Customers must wear face coverings while in PAK store. Customers can enter PAK stores without a face covering if they have a medical condition or invisible disability that prevents them from wearing a covering. Following the recent change in Government guidance, all PAK store employees will now wear a covering while at work unless they have a medical exemption. PAK has always encouraged its employees to wear a covering by offering them a choice of disposable and reusable coverings and visors.
  • Social distancing - Keeping our customers and employees safe has been our priority throughout lockdown and this remains unchanged as social distancing measures are gradually eased. As parts of the UK refine their safety measures and new changes are implemented, we continue to support these across our stores in the UK.
  • Hygiene measures - We take the safety of our customers and colleagues very seriously and have a number of hygiene measures in our stores, including the use of sanitizer spray and increased cleaning in busy areas.
